Abstrak

This study aims to analyze the strategies, challenges, and impacts of internalizing religious moderation education at MTs Ibrohimy Galis Bangkalan, located in a pesantren environment. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the school implements a holistic strategy, including integrating religious moderation materials into the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum, teacher and principal role modeling, and strengthening school culture through extracurricular activities. Challenges include differences in students’ religious understanding, the influence of non-moderate social media, and varied teacher capacity in applying moderation strategies. Solutions implemented involve regular teacher training, utilization of interactive learning media, and parental involvement in fostering tolerance values. The impacts of internalization are evident in improved student tolerance, proportional understanding of religion, and the creation of an inclusive and harmonious pesantren environment. These findings highlight that holistic religious moderation education can develop students’ character to be tolerant, balanced, and socially responsible, and can serve as a practical model for other madrasahs in pesantren contexts.
