Peer Review Process

INJALA: International Journal of Islamic Law and Legal Studies

All manuscripts submitted to INJALA: International Journal of Islamic Law and Legal Studies must comply with the journal’s focus, scope, and author guidelines. Submitted manuscripts must demonstrate scientific merit, originality, and relevance to the field of Islamic law and legal studies.

All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. Authors are strongly encouraged to use plagiarism detection software to check similarity before submission. The editorial team screens all submissions using plagiarism detection software to ensure academic integrity.

Research articles submitted to INJALA are reviewed by at least two independent expert reviewers. Each manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Manuscripts are returned to authors for revision when necessary, and reviewers provide constructive and scholarly comments aimed at improving the quality and clarity of the manuscript.

All manuscripts are subject to peer review. Authors can normally expect a decision, or notification of delay, within approximately two months after submission. When revisions are requested, the corresponding author is expected to submit the revised manuscript within two weeks. The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editors based on reviewers’ recommendations and the overall editorial evaluation.

As stated in the journal’s publication ethics policy, all manuscripts under review are treated as confidential documents and must not be disclosed to any third party prior to publication. The final acceptance of articles is determined by the Editors in accordance with reviewers’ comments. The publication schedule of accepted articles, including the order of appearance, is determined by the Editor-in-Chief based on the date of acceptance, thematic considerations, and balanced geographical representation of authors.
